Hey Beautiful NoWhere Folk,
Since our humble beginnings as a subset of the Black Rock City Post Office in 2001, where we earned our name (story told in person by request), the Damn Fucking Texans have tried to bring bigger, more elaborate, more interactive theme camps (barrios) to Burningman, Burning Flipside, and every other burn event we attend.
www.autonomousacres.com/gallery/album61 is the gateway to our pictorial history.
Wherever we have gone we have been able to rely on our pick-up trucks,
trailers, and later an 18 wheeler pulling our burn dedicated container to transport all our stuff.
We have had fully equipped kitchens complete with one of our Dads as a cook, innovative shower assemblies, electricity to share, a bar that is open for days at a time, concerts, celebrity appearances, and legendary parties (pictures in the gallery). We have had very much fun for a pretty long time.
Obviously we are much more limited for NoWhere. We are trying to reduce an entire Embassy/ Bar down to one or two traveling trunks, not trucks. We will not have our kitchen. We will not have our water source. We will not have our generators or our bar, and we most certainly will not have an Art Car. For a group that is very proud of being radically self-reliant, we are rather confused and bewildered about how we’re going to live up to our standards of thriving, not just surviving.
So we are asking for help or ideas, I guess. We’re willing to barter our skill sets for the occasional meal or few gallons of water. Some of us can cook. All can bartend, clean, build, organize, direct, be directed, carry things, tell tall tales, or just be decorative imports for your barrio. Doesn’t every barrio need a Texan or two lounging about occasionally? Have a sound system and want to hear some traditional Texas music from multiple genres? We can do that for you. We're very versatile.
We’d love to buy into some water in a cube. We will pay for a share of a generator to run a few lights in camp at night. Basically, we’ll do whatever it takes to make Nowhere a fantastic experience for us and y’all.
Y’all know that the word “Texas” comes from a Native American word “Tejas” which means Friends or Friendly? We all live up to that standard, and we can’t wait to meet as many of y’all as we can.

And, is anyone else going to Pamplona afterwards? Adventure calls……again.
