Workshops and events

Workshops and events are a great way to learn a new skill or be entertained – and, of course, to teach a skill and entertain! Any skill or talent you are willing to share is your gift to the community. Whether you dance, make music, do yoga, sing opera, twirl nipple tassels, swing poi, meditate, play guitar, paint watercolours or practice tantra, your participation is encouraged, nay, required! You can share your love of ashtanga one day, then enjoy a traditional Japanese tea ceremony the next. You can watch an incredible hoop dance demonstration in the morning and then rock out with your guitar in the evening. We have an amazing shared community structure in the middle of our fine event, appropriately called the Middle of Nowhere, and it is open to be used by everyone. There's room for it all... it just takes you!

Sometimes you might want to bring people together to celebrate an idea or theme. These types of events have shaped Nowhere into one of the most unique regional burns in the world. Some of our favourite traditions include the Miss Nowhere pageant, the Costume Camp fashion show, and the Nowhere closing ceremony, which brings all participants together on Sunday night. If you have an idea for an event, organise it! Just make sure you tell us about it so we can put it in this year's events guide.

Remember, Nowhere is what YOU make it, so there’s no limit to what you can offer! But it also means that you are responsible for making it happen. Nowhere is 100% participant run, so there’s no need to submit portfolios for approval. You want it, you make it happen – we're just here to help organise the mayhem!
