Art grant application form 2012

2012 art grant application

Let's make Nowhere 2012 the best year yet!

There are two rounds for Nowhere's art grants:

Round 1: Sunday 11 March 2012 (up to €750 for larger projects)

Round 2: Sunday 13 May 2012 (up to €250 for smaller projects)

If you are planning a very large project, please get in touch with the Art team at art@goingnowhere.org as additional funding may be available.

To make an application for an art grant, you need to send us:

This application form fully completed

Some supporting materials (drawings, photos, videos etc)

3  Your leave no trace plan, filled out and signed (download it here)

Before you begin, please consider the following points:

Make sure you have read the creative support guidelines pdf. We will be measuring your application against these and if you haven't read the guidelines, you might find your application rejected for simple reasons.

Think your application through carefully and make sure you meet all the criteria.

We will only fund up to 70% of any art project ,to a maximum amount of €750 in round 1 and €250 in round 2. If you feel you need more funding than this, then let us know as we have a small amount of discretionary funding that may be available.

Keep your receipts. We will pay you in arrears. You are responsible for getting your receipts to Nowhere Finance by 12 August 2012.

Leave no trace is an integral part of Nowhere. Make sure you consider this when planning (leave enough time to make sure the site of your project is completely clean, and take all rubbish and materials with you when you go).

We give priority to art that is interactive and participatory.

As well as big ideas, we are also interested in small, intimate proposals, so it's worth applying for help on a small scale.

Please only apply for the amount you really need, as this will allow us to fund as many projects as possible.

Contact the Arts team with any questions, or if you need help developing a leave no trace plan – email art@goingnowhere.org.

Good luck! We can't wait to see your project!

  • Basic infomation

  •

  • *This is to use in the Nowhere art map (given out at the gate) and all publicity about art at Nowhere. Please consider this carefully, as it will represent your project before, during and after the event.

  • Section A – Project outline

  • What do you want to do? This needs to outline the concept of your piece, what you want to do, with whom and why, the driving motivation behind the work, what you want to achieve with it, and anything else you want to tell us about it. Try to imagine you are seeing the piece for the first time and describe how the audience will view and interact with the art work.

What is the timeline for the project? Specify how you will transform your ideas from plans to reality, including the practicalities of building any physical parts and details of transport arrangements. Please specify dates and times – all physical art needs to be assembled by Tuesday and stay up until Sunday. This schedule must reflect the proposed budget.

  • Participation is at the heart of Nowhere - how is your project participatory?

  • Section B – Logistics

  • It doesn't matter whether or not you have created art before. We want to know how viable the project is, how committed you are to the success of the project, and any other information that will show us you can successfully create this work.

  • This event is about radical self-reliance, and the funding available to support creativity is limited. Although we can go some way to financially support your work, we need to know how you will ensure the success of the project. The rest of the funds can be 'in kind' support.

  • For example, will you need power? Do you need a lot of volunteers? If it's a land-based installation, what materials will you need, and how will you get them? You must also think about how you will light your project at night.

  • Please state what safety precautions you will be taking, if necessary. This will be especially applicable to large-scale building work. We will need to check your building work on site for safety. How will you light it at night? How will people know how to interact with it?

  • Optional

  • Section C – The budget

Please use the table below to outline your budget. Add extra rows as applicable.
  • Please note, prices are in euros.

If you enable Javascript on your browser, you can add extra fields and it will even calculate them for you.

  • We will only fund up to 70% of any project's cost. Due to the relatively small amount of funding available, funding for any one project will be limited to the grant sizes above.

  • Deadlines for art grants are:

Round 1: Sunday 11 March 2012 (for larger projects)
Round 2: Sunday 13 May 2012 (for smaller projects)

  • Applications received after this date won't be accepted.

Good luck and get creating, we are very excited about your ideas and look forward to hearing from you!

  • You can send anything you like here to show us how your idea has developed. Include any drawings, videos, photos of past work, sketches etc you would like us to consider.

Submit your Leave no trace plan as a separate file.

Contact the Arts team at art@goingnowhere.org with any questions, or if you need help developing a leave no trace plan.

  • Only push this button once, then wait... If after 10 seconds the form does not send, please check above for errors.
