Art is at the heart of Nowhere, but what is art?

At Nowhere, art is what you make it - free of stifling boundaries and classifications. For the days we're there, the site flowers with creativity as participants transform the landscape with their art projects. Art is not all about visibility either, and interaction is a common feature of much of the art.

Being practical

Of course, creating art in the Spanish desert requires a lot of practical planning... You may need to build much of your project in advance and you need to organise how you will transport your art to and from the site.

As Nowhere is a leave no trace event, you need to completely remove your project at the end of the event - you must leave nothing behind.

Before the event, you can use the  forums and the mailing lists to talk to other artists, find volunteers to help, and get support and advice from others in the community.

Nowhere is a no commerce event, but to help you pay for materials and transport for your art project, we use a significant portion of the ticket proceeds for arts grants - please see art grants for more details.
