Mad Hatter's Boston Tea Party
A fundraiser for YesPlease!
The Golden Hinde, Southwark
24th April 2009 7pm-midnight
Ahoy, me hearties!
We hope you had a fabulous weekend of Easter fun and frolics, and now we're here to give you all the details of the next fun time to be had.
It's now only 10 days to go until we welcome you aboard the Golden Hinde for the Mad Hatter's Boston Tea Party!
TICKETS ARE SELLING QUICKLY, AND ARE STRICTLY LIMITED - they didn't build boats big in 1588... So to avoid disappointment, and to save money, remember to get your tickets online before they're gone, by visiting http://www.goingnowhere.org/en/london/82-mad-hatters-boston-tea-party.html. Any tickets left by the night will be on sale on the door for £15; advance tickets are a bargain £12/£9 concs including dinner!
For those who might have thought it's a pub - wrong! This is your chance to party on board an Elizabethan galleon, moored on the Thames by London Bridge. The Golden Hinde was Sir Francis Drake's ship, built in the 16th century for his global adventures gathering treasure for Queen Elizabeth - much like the Somalis do in modern times in the Gulf.
We have all sorts planned - we've got A deckfull of performance planned by the lovely Ben Melchiors and Nicholas Immaculate, CELEBRATING HIGH TEA ON THE HIGH SEAS.. PLEASE TRY TO ARRIVE PROMPTLY SO YOU DON'T MISS ANY OF THE FUN! If you would like to be involved in the planned performances or have any ideas of your own please contact us on

, as there's room for everyone to join in and you could be costumed by Mr Immaculate!
As the evening progresses we migrate through the ship, first to the gun deck for a buffet banquet brought to you by Rob Hill. A word of caution though: the beams are very low, so unless you're under 3'6" we strongly recommend you WEAR A FABULOUS HAT as millinery tends to bruise less than heads.
And Long-legged Alice herself will be teasing you with teas ranging from Earl Grey to Long Island Iced from her bar in the captain's cabin...
Then we have a hold full of treasure in the form of our DJs and band line-up, featuring live music from Antonio Lulic and Kal Lavelle, with a warm-up from DJ The Alchemist and finishing with DJ G playing tunes into the night.
So come along in your finest costumes. Think Sailors, Pirates, Tea Cups, and of course the Mad Hatter and his Wonderland Friends. There will be a cloakroom so you can change on board if you're coming straight from work...
See you all there!

About YesPlease!
YesPlease! is a new camp for Nowhere 2009. We'll be building a padded musical cocoon as a venue for a laid-back chilled end to your evening. Even better, it will be fully lined in fur culled from the softest wild muppets, shot in the forests of Scunthorpe. We're also on the hunt for old futon mattresses, so if you have any that you're planning to dump please throw them in our direction...
