You cannot buy or sell anything at Nowhere*

*Except for ice, for just a few hours a day, so you don’t suffer food poisoning or warm beer.

You need to bring everything with you, from food and water to warm clothes and a decent tent.

Many people join a theme camp (known as a barrio) and organise their food and water communally. You can see which barrios are recruiting on the forums.

Gifting

As well as ‘no commerce’ and ‘radical self-reliance’, Nowhere embraces the principle of ‘gifting’. Gifting means giving something to others for the simple pleasure of it.

Gifting is NOT bartering – gifts don’t replace money at Nowhere, they’re just nice!

The best gifts tend to be simple (a hug, a smile, a foot massage, a cold beer) and personal (something that you’ve made or a memento of Nowhere). Please think carefully about anything you gift – small trinkets can often accidentally end up as MOOP (matter out of place).
