| Info: Hey deariesHave you heard about what's happening in Quebec? Here is a brief reminder : vimeo.com/42702955
I live in Montreal and within the past month I ve witness both disgusting acts of police violence, super natural political and mediatic demagogy but also one of the most beautiful common awakening. Symptoms involve gifting, self expression, spontaneous artistic performances and an amazing sense of solidarity. The strike was started by students, but it's been a month that it's mostly families and elders that gather every night at 8 outside their apartment to bang on pots. This symphony is here to remind the government that this "silent majority" that is supposed to support them is being way too silent, and that the Quebec population is not stupid and blind. They are angry at corruption, at the absence of ecological and social consciousness, the marchandising of culture, knowledge and natural ressources, and they are eager to change things. Like us, right?
I've been seeing signs lately that warm up my lil' heart, they say "this is not a student protest, it's a nation awakening" (sorry for the bad translation)
In solidarity with the students (and people!!) of Quebec, there has been many "Casseroles" ("pots" in french) protest around the world.
How about some Casseroles at Nowhere? I m looking for a filmmaker willing to film the event and mount it in order to take part in the very important part of the process that is happening online. A 2-3 minutes videoclip of beautiful people banging on pots in the desert from a 10-15 minutes action ?
Thursday, at 8 let's gather and bang on pots together, not only is it super fun but I think that the new interest for festivals like Burning Man and Nowhere is part of a more global movement which is visible through world wide student protests, but also all the Occupy movements for example. People want to rebuild society, to get closer to a possible utopia. To me, Nowhere is about that too. Let's make it more than just a party in the desert and gather to bang on pots and make a short film to put on youtube! |
