Les Barrios (ou Camps) sont un élément essentiel de Nowhere.

Barrios (theme camps) are a fundamental part of making Nowhere what it is!

Solonia Wilds Bar

Our mission is to create the most welcoming and fucked up bar on the playa. Under a very large shade structure, we’re offering wine and cold beer all day (well… until we run out of booze), and trying to entertain our guests with djs, a small dance area, pole dancing, a powertool massaging zone, and other stupid stuff.
The camp provides a playa-ready kitchen for our members. All the concept and info are here.

  • Accepting new members: If you’re willing to bring your energy and good vibes to the mix there could be a place for you. Check our website and apply !

Werkhaus

First to come! Last to pull out!

Werkhaus is home for those who create the Nowhere we love and adore – the volunteers.

Before the event, this is one of the first shades to go up. And after the event, this is the last oasis in the desert.

During the event, Werkhaus becomes a normal-ish barrio, with paying campers, who enjoy delicious food and drinks while relaxing under our giant shade structure in between shifts and activities.

Werkhaus hosts workshops and interactive sessions: a few open windows on what is going during Build and Strike, and anything related to volunteering and making Nowhere happen.

Everyone at Werkhaus volunteers for a variety of roles and shifts. If you are interested to camp with us, you have to volunteer for a minimum of NOrgshifts, Build, and/or Strike.

All campers at Werkhaus are also expected to take on Barrio shifts. This could be cooking, washing dishes, leave no trace, tidying up, bar shifts, build and strike. There’s something for everyone.

This year Werkhaus is capping the number of campers at 60 and the fees are fixed at 95€.

Yes!

Across the dusty desert you appeared like a mirage. I was mesmerized at first sight. My family jewels jiggled a bit, but I was carrying them that day for mom. I never forgot you, or that moment. It touched me deep down ( like when I used to go to confessional).

3.You have your shit together (though preferably not in a pile in your bedroom)
4.You have most (if not all) of your teeth

The Flat Playa Society

Despite what the so-called ‘scientists’ have been claiming for years, we possess compelling evidence that the playa is flat ! Find the truth by yourselves.
Our barrio is the main station of a magical train, the Tchoutchou Dragon Express. We serve coffee late morning before noon, and offer random occasions of Mölkky or Twister game, beer & popcorn bar, as well as unsuspected Yoga sessions. French efficiency at its best. »

Retardigrades

We are mostly about nonsense things, and not very serious about anything… And we carry stuff around while we play, or hum or sing haphazardly the imperial march from Star Wars… (we do not recognize their TM out of practical purposes).
The food is mostly Vegan, although we have some additives that are only vegetarian for those of us who are not vegan normally.

Slumberland

Imagine a magical place beyond the third mushroom on the right. You can only find it by getting yourself lost. You will meet magical creatures who will receive you with open arms and hearts. Wanna play? They will lure you in and seduce you. You will feel welcome, 100% loved and seen. Then you doze off in a luxurious canopy bed and dream of having a hot threesome with Han Solo and Barbarella in space.
The friendly folks of the small Slumberland barrio are a happy bunch, mostly from the Netherlands. We dreamed of creating our own little sex positive safe haven in a corner of Nowhere, where we can chill, connect, frolic around, enjoy the shade, each other and organize some fun workshops and rituals. This is the first year we are making this dream come true. Exciting!

Playground

We’re not a circus camp as our name may suggest but we do have two giant trampolines and slack lines. We’re famous for our hospitality, welcoming all dusty beings wandering around, to come and chill with us. We like to think of ourselves as the perfect camp to come play, dance and chill in the afternoon / early evening. We host some awesome dance workshops every year, not to mention our infamous « Tittie Appreciation hour », that has people from all over the playa come running up to see what all the commotion is about!

Our camp is centered around a big open shaded space with a large chill area, dining area, workshop area and dance floor. We have a sweet kitchen with fridge and freezer, and a beautiful shower. Basically, all the amenities you could ever dream of, but covered in dust and full of smelly hippies…

Rest assured our palatial shade structure, beers, and shower will keep you from overheating during the day.

Or get naked and naughty while (re)discovering your kinks? No one ever knows whats behind our doorstep. But no day within Thέ Lόόphόlέ will ever be like the one before….

In NOW we trust!

Tired of all the layers and layers of tags and properties that have been added over the years to your “personality”? Come play with us the peeling off of the habitual “you”, like the peeling off of an onion. After all the layers are gone what remains? NOTHING/NOWTHING! A spacious sensation where all is possible! We would like to offer a slow-down experience, where people can take vacation from their pre-conceived personality and come back to an ever-fresh and ever-new NOW.
Two core principles are the base of our camp: radical generosity (gift economy) and creativity; and we will promote two main peeling-off tools: art and playfulness.

Planet Pulpo

In Soviet Übertown party comes to you.
In Planet Pulpo you can go to party but the party won’t come to you.

Planet Pulpo is a relaxed barrio that is more community oriented and supportive for its underwater creatures.
We are 30 different sea creatures: pulpos, squids, jellyfishes, turtles and the odd lake monster…

We are tolerant and open minded, a strongly participatory camp that treasures the extreme match of being small and very active.

We are creating a space (in the green zone) that feels like home for the event.
Our chilling space provides sofa, hammocks and mattresses and a really good Italian style kitchen.

We are small and completely full but we are always happy to have people come say hi and check out our little underwater world.

ConnectiviTea

There is no escape. You can’t be a vagabond and an artist and still be a solid citizen, a wholesome, upstanding man. You want to get drunk, so you have to accept the hangover. You say yes to the sunlight and pure fantasies, so you have to say yes to the filth and the nausea. Everything is within you, gold and mud, happiness and pain, the laughter of childhood and the apprehension of death. Say yes to everything, shirk nothing. Don’t try to lie to yourself. You are not a solid citizen. You are not a Greek. You are not harmonious, or the master of yourself. You are a bird in the storm. Let it storm! Let it drive you! How much have you lied! A thousand times, even in your poems and books, you have played the harmonious man, the wise man, the happy, the enlightened man. In the same way, men attacking in war have played heroes, while their bowels twitched. My God, what a poor ape, what a fencer in the mirror man is- particularly the artist- particularly myself!

ConnectiviTea is a safe space for dreaming, political incorrectness, surrealism, holy moments, spontaneity, flow, and doubt. But mostly tea.

Our gift to the playa this year is a data-driven tea house focused on immediacy and connection. This is emphatically a no-small talk zone.
Let’s slip into the masterpiece.

Super Barrio Brothers

Super Barrio Brothers will be returning in 2018 as a slightly smaller sound camp moving to the amber noise zone so that we can all get a better night’s sleep, we’ll concentrating on a more relaxed festival and adopting a kinky theme with some fun daytime events and a few evening parties. Fully stocked kitchen and bar, shade structures to protect from that midday sun, showers, water all the facilities you will need. Looking to max out at 40 camp members again this year.

If you have an idea, a workshop, a performance, an art piece, want to DJ, create a themed party anything you want to do we can make it happen. In the past we have hosted the Pirate Olympics, a HUGE party with free bar for the entire festival and loads more if it can be created in the dust we can. and ANYTHING can be created if you want it.

Current ideas are some kind of structure involving hammocks, a massive shade structure, bar and kitchen and then our Moroccan Tent with DJ equipment and offering great protection from the shade.

Camp fees are set at £150 and will get you fed and watered, booze, shade, shelter, showers, and a fully shade covered private(ish) camping area.

There will be shifts throughout the week and everyone will need to be involved with cooking one meal, making sure the camp is tidy etc.

Wonderever

Welcome to Wonderever’s world of wonderful wanderers!

Since the last 4 years we’ve combined a chill atmosphere with a touch of craziness. Take a bunch of hammocks, pillows and couches and throw them together with a glory hole, rooftop mattresses, a bondage cage, spontaneous borrowed art car parties and voilà .. Wonderever is ready!

We’re a very international crew (even snatched a Philippino!), especially famous for our professional fluffing skills – water pistols! – and unicorn hunting for our bondage cage.

Join us if you like decorating, hammocks, spontaneous experiments, organising workshops for wanderers (one time examples of the past: male lapdancing, improvisation theater, introduction to shibari ..), a vegetarian menu and being part of a cosy home. We’re especially looking for people interested in co-creating Wonderever.

Also back this year with our sister camp Babycham, forming Pueblo Flandango, we’ll have our usual kick-arse Thursday night village party with top-notch cocktails.

We are 30 different sea creatures: pulpos, squids, jellyfishes, turtles…

We are tolerant and open minded, a strongly participatory camp that treasures the extreme match of being small and very active.

We are creating a space (in the green zone) that feels like home for the event.
Our chilling space provides sofa, hammocks and mattresses, shade for tents, shower and a really good italian style kitchen.

We’ll host the Pulpo’s Shisha Bar to share stories and relax, enjoying a cup of tea and Hookah.

We are currently at capacity with a long waiting list. Sadly any applications are very unlikely to be accepted now.

Dusty hugs
Chrysalis

We have chosen the name “Chrysalis” (the caterpillar in the process of becoming a butterfly) to symbolise that our barrio will focus on ideas of re-birth, re-creation and self-discovery. We plan to offer nurturing spaces, inspiring workshops and a variety of materials through which people can unleash their creativity and explore themselves and each other in a loving way. The intention is for the barrio itself to transform during the week from a space ripe with potential into a magical, co-created expression of Nowhere.

We intend to be particularly mindful of our environmental impact and our own privilege. We are committed to a transparent, co-created decision-making process. For more information, including about our principles and democratic selection process, and to apply, please visit: https://huddl.tech/h/chrysalis

We anticipate our camp fees will be in the region of £150-200, with the hope of different price brackets to avoid excluding people on the grounds of financial means.

Mirage

«  »Why? » » has been an integral question to our existance as a camp. Over multiple dinners and discussions we have tried to understand what brings us together and why we would like to go to Nowhere together. Our conclusion is that we would like to have many more dinners and discussions about sustainablity, innovation and beauty, we would like to quench our thirst for curiousity and experience, we would like to surround ourselves with wonderors who, like us, want to experience social forms that will lead to creation of the elusive utopia and finally we would like to keep it enjoyable and spontanious.

We are mostly Swiss by nationality and we have been burning with the Swiss burning man community for many years now. Although we are based out of Switzerland we also have members from Barcelona, Berlin and London. We love diversity and would absolutely love to further enrich our camp with people from all over the world.

This year Werkhaus is capping the number of campers at 60. If you are interested in registering to camp with us please volunteer for a role at Nowhere and we will be in touch.  Please sign up and tell us how you can help: https://app.vroomhq.com/s/nowhere

Please note: We will be prioritising places for people who have committed to at least two shifts at Nowhere (Build, event or strike). All campers at Werkhaus also need to commit to helping the barrio run. During the event we all (that’s everybody) need to chip in with cooking, washing dishes, leave no trace, tidying up, build and importantly strike. There’s something for everyone.

We will offer a wide range of educational sessions and effective practices known to facilitate transformation in every aspect of our lives. Daily talks on health, lifestyle design, diet, philosophy, personal practice, and how we can clarify the concept of ‘sustainability’ in many aspects of our life.

Yoga will be expressed not only as a physical practice suitable for a bendy few, but an integrated discipline accessible to all in daily classes and workshops. Meditation will be practiced in many forms, personal and guided, still and dynamic, silent and sounded. Art as therapy, song as community, music as low-bandwidth telepathy, dance as expression of the sublime.

If after reading you’re still interested, please contact us with a little detail about yourself.

Bubble ‘n’ Bass

Bubbles and Bass will be rockin’ you out with bubbly bass-tastic house music as you watch the sun set over Nowhere and dance the early evening hours away… and drink some free bubbly while you boogie!

Enfants Terribles

This camp has been created for parents coming to Nowhere with children. We hope that camping with other parents and children will allow us to engage with and support each other throughout the event. There will be a Geodome with kitchen area and shower. Also a motorhome/truck to use as a communal space. We will not provide food or water, but we will offer a siesta space, a kitchen with tools (including cooler), a shower, and small Sound System. No fees apply.

The Wild Encounter

The Wild Encounter is a chilled out and sustainable experience. An International camp, hosting all kinds of strange dance workshops, stuffed toys, chilled out afternoon jam sessions, mad siestas, evening funk parties, minimal after parties, late night old time classics, & wild life preservation patrols.

The Baby Bloomers

We bring you fluffy & illuminated experience where you’ll discover collective beauty, across Improv’Theater, cheap joke, body painting, making micro-performances, experimentations…

Donut

Donut is back and we’re happy to continue providing a space of decadent comfort in a harsh physical environment and from that everything else will flow.

Wonderever

A super chill barrio where we wonder and wander as much as possible with the rest of the Nowherian community. Eclectic sounds, excellent food, loving people, relax zone, tastings, wonderings, shade, little projects, dream atmospheres, and so much more. Be welcome to our perfect base to launch and land your liminal wondering and wandering. Find us here.

ToudouLand

Welcome my friend to the ToudouLand camp.. bring your own cup and smile 🙂 The ToudouLand camp will probably be a quiet place during the day. But sometimes the tranquility of the place will give way to more noisy and spirited events !

Snowhere

Are you too hot to handle? Come chill in the frosty Snowhere camp. You’ll be greeted by our ice cold ice queens, be cooled down with chilly cocktails and you can enjoy our glacier-sorbets. And then warm up all over again by raving at the IceBerg.

Garden of Joy

For the bursting joy of all visionaries, chillers, and music lovers the Garden will strike the Playa for our sixth year – be ready to rock it louder!

Join us during the day to relax, chill and talk, come at night to love, shake, and dance. Gardeners unite and shine!

We host a daily toy library in a chilling bar and will be more than happy to share games and our Very Secret Cocktail Recipes with you. Come and relax in the midst of those crazy nights.
Quoi : un bar à jeux. Où : sous le tipi psychédélique. Quand : tous les jours! Qui : toi, moi, nous. Comment ? amène ton sourire, tes potes et ta bouteille, on s’occupe du reste.

Top of Nowhere

We provide a shade structure for those people who aren’t a member of a barrio and need somewhere to escape the sun. Often referred to as Nowhere’s « best kept secret », we’re situated at the top of the camping fields.

Space Camp!

We are Space Camp! We are here to test our space equipment: lunar rover, environment suits, lights and sound systems. We know how to shelter from harmful space radiation. Come rest in our dome!

Poolhaus

The pool returns! The original Poolhaus camp from 2011 will be back with Nowhere’s legendary swimming pool! Open to all during the day, we’ll be providing a great way to cool off and a shady space to chillout by the pool. During the evening we’ll be providing a cosy playspace to relax, chat and get up to mischief! Joining our camp is currently by invitation only as most of our camp spaces are filled.

Babycham

Babycham, the home of nonsense, balderdash, flim flammery, and other guff. We are hosts to such annual niceties as Penis Appreciation Hour and the Cabaret from our eclectic group of misfits and deviants.

The Court of the Crimson King

Enter, if you wish, the Court of the Crimson King, where the Yellow Jester pulls the strings and the grinding wheel is turning… A new Barrio for 2014 with a love of progressive rock music and general nerdery.

The Hug and The Snug

The Hug: come and receive the finest hugs from the finest huggers. The Snug: where all are welcome to come, relax, have a chat, play some games and make new friends (we may even have a little tea and cake)
