Role to be filled

Malfare | Nomad Coordinator

Year Round and on site

PURPOSE/SUMMARY

To work within the Malfare Team coordinating the Nomads (Nowhere’s Rangers) including recruiting and managing the Nomad rota.

Tasks and Time Commitment

This is a year round role, and planning typically starts in earnest from January, taking maybe an hour or two a week and getting busier in the run up to July. The month before the event is usually the busiest, requiring up to five or six hours weekly depending on workload and team size, and after the event there are some wrap up tasks before a lull until the cycle starts again.

Here’s an example of some of the tasks you’ll be helping with throughout the year;

Pre-Event

  • Attend regular monthly online meetings with the Malfare Team and Participant Wellness MetaLead to assist with planning
  • Set up FIST (Nowhere’s online volunteer management platform) with the shifts and numbers of Nomads needed (you will get guidance if you need it.)
  • Keep an eye on FIST to make sure volunteers are signing up to shifts, putting calls out on social media and via the Comms Team as appropriate
  • Respond to queries from Nomad volunteers and organize Early Entry (EE) passes for any who need to arrive before Gate opens
  • Liaise with the Malfare Training Lead and ensure it is publicized to Nomads and other participants when and where training sessions are taking place
  • Create and print off paper versions of the rota and training and shift attendance sheets

On-Site

  • Liaise with NoInfo if you need to recruit further Nomads during event week
  • Keep good records of Nomad training and shift attendance
  • Sign up any new recruits to the Nomad rota at the end of onsite training sessions
  • You may choose to undertake a Malfare or Nomad shift or two in order to better answer questions about Nomading in the future based on practical experience
  • Participate in any on site meetings relevant to your role

Post-Event

  • Thank Nomads and invite them to give feedback
  • Ensure all paper attendance records are transferred to digital documents
  • Provide written feedback in the form of a Post Nowhere Report (PNR)
  • Participate in a wrap up meeting with your team and/or MetaLead as appropriate
  • If you intend to step down, ensure the role description is up to date
  • Attend the annual All Leads Meeting (ALM) if possible
