Norg, the group of humans collaborating in organising Nowhere is recruiting for a Finance and production role – this is a paid position on a contract basis through the end of August 2025.
PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
We are looking for a badass sidekick to support the Production & Logistics Coordinator during the busiest and dustiest weeks of Nowhere. You’ll be on the ground from the first truck to the last container, helping coordinate infrastructure, deliveries, volunteers, and emergency chaos with a calm head and a radio in hand.
You’ll work closely with multiple teams, making sure things don’t fall through the cracks. If you love making things run smoothly and being in the heart of the action, this is for you 💥
TIME COMMITMENT:
🗓️ When: June 1 – July 15
Remote (June 1–8):
You’ll start with one week of remote/online work to get familiar with the event, teams, and systems, and to help coordinate any final logistics before hitting the ground.
On Site (June 9–July 15):
Full-time support during setup, event, and strike.
This is a full-on event-time role, including:
- Setup: June 9–29
- Event: June 30–July 6
- Strike: July 7–15
You’ll support Production & Logistics operations across:
- Daily site check-ins and planning meetings
- On-call duties for radio and coordination
- Liaising with volunteers, suppliers, and other departments
- Helping close down and pack up post-event
DUTIES/TASKS
💻 Pre-Event (Remote, June 1–8):
- Join online onboarding session(s) with the Production & Logistics Coordinator
- Review 2024 Production Office docs, timelines, and key procedures
- Get familiar with team comms channels (email, radio procedures, WhatsApp, etc.)
- Help with any last-minute logistics or supplier confirmations
- Prepare your own “grab bag” of info for hitting the ground running
🛠️ Pre-Event (June 9–24)
- Arrive early to help unload NORG containers and set up Production Village
- Help prepare signage, office gear, and infrastructure
- Support coordination of early deliveries, fencing, power, toilets and water
- Assist in organising radio logistics and volunteer shift data
- Participate in daily logistics & production planning meetings
🚀 On-Site (June 25–July 6)
- Work from the Production Office helping coordinate deliveries, suppliers and team needs
- Assist with meal coordination and breaks for volunteers if needed
- Track basic inventory and office needs (restocking, printing, signage etc.)
- Help ensure communication flows between teams (via radio and runners)
- Be an extra pair of hands when everything is on fire 💥
- Serve as friendly and calm point of contact for teams, camps, and unexpected curveballs
🧹 Post-Event (July 7–15)
- Support Strike team with coordination and final clean-up
- Help pack up Production Office and containers
- Assist in doing final inventories
- Be part of the handover and feedback process

Person sPECIFICATION:
Required
- Experience volunteering at Nowhere or a similar event
- Comfortable using radios and juggling multiple comms
- Organised and flexible under pressure
- Calm and helpful in chaotic situations
- Willing to commit full time from June 1 (remote) to July 15 (on site)
- Fluent in English and Spanish (must be able to communicate confidently in both)
- Holds a valid driving licence
Desired
- Basic spreadsheet or Google Drive skills
- Love of duct tape, radios, or making things magically appear
- Experience with event production or logistics
- An interest in staying involved year-round (not required)
Bonus skills
- Willingness to help wherever you can
- Experience of collaborative working and recruiting and managing volunteers
- Ability to de-escalate conflict and focus amid pandemonium
- Positive and balanced attitude and resilience to stress.
- Familiarity with Nowhere or other similar events such as Burning Man and Burning Man regionals.
